# Privacy Policy for Trinkbrunnen und Toiletten _Last updated: March 2026_ Thank you for using **Trinkbrunnen und Toiletten** (referred to in this document as "the App", "we", "our", or "us"). It does **not** require an account and does not store personal information like names, email addresses, or precise location history on any servers. Information We Collect Locally (On Your Device Only) The App stores the following information **only on your device**: - Your favorite fountains and toilets - Recent searches - UI preferences (language, dark mode, map style, routing provider) - Downloaded fountain and toilet datasets (cached for offline use) This data is **NOT sent to any servers** and remains private to your device. --- ## 3. Diagnostic Data We Send to Our Servers On the first launch of the App, and periodically thereafter, we send the following **anonymous diagnostic data** to our backend (powered by Supabase) to monitor app performance and stability: - App version number - Package name (app identifier) - Device model (e.g., "iPhone 14", "Samsung Galaxy S23") - Operating system version (e.g., "iOS 17", "Android 14") - Country (derived from device settings) - Approximate city (derived from device settings, not precise GPS) - Number of app startups/launches **Why we collect this:** - To understand which devices and OS versions work well with the App - To identify crashes or performance issues across different platforms - To understand the geographic distribution of our users **What we do NOT collect:** - Your precise location - Any personally identifiable information (name, email, phone number, etc.) - Your browsing history or fountain/toilet searches - App usage patterns or feature interactions This data is automatically deleted after a reasonable retention period. Information Collected by Third Parties The App uses services provided by third parties that may automatically collect certain data: ### Google AdMob (Advertisements) The App displays advertisements via **Google AdMob**. Purpose of Data Use **Diagnostic data (sent to our Supabase backend)** is used for: - Monitoring app stability and performance - Identifying bugs or crashes - Understanding user demographics for app improvement - Ensuring the app works across various devices and OS versions **Data collected by Google AdMob** is used for: - Delivering personalized or non-personalized ads - Measuring advertising effectiveness - Preventing fraud and ensuring security of the advertising network - Improving Google's services **Location data (on your device and when you search)** is used for: - Showing nearby fountains and toilets - Calculating distances and sorting by proximity - Geocoding addresses you search for - Providing map functionality --- ## 6. Opting Out of Personalized Advertising You can choose to disable personalized ads at any time: **On Android:** - Go to **Settings → Google → Manage your Google Account** - Tap **Data & Privacy** - Scroll to **Ad settings** and tap **Manage your Google Ads settings** - Tap **Personalization** and toggle it **off** **On iOS:** - Go to **Settings → Privacy → Apple Advertising** - Tap **Personalized Ads** and toggle it **off** You can also reset your advertising ID in your device settings, which will prevent future ads from being linked to your previous behavior. --- ## 7. Location Permissions The App may request location permission to: - Show nearby fountains and toilets - Sort results by distance - Center the map on your current location **You can grant or deny this permission at any time.** If you deny location permission, the App will still work, but distance-based features will be limited. Data Security - **Diagnostic data** sent to our backend is transmitted securely over HTTPS. - **Local data** on your device is as secure as your device's own security measures. - We do not store passwords, payment information, or sensitive personal data. - Data handled by third parties (Google, OpenStreetMap, etc.) is managed according to their own privacy and security policies. --- ## 9. Children's Privacy The App is **not directed at children under the age of 13** in the EU, or under applicable age limits in your jurisdiction. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal data through third-party services such as Google AdMob, please contact Google directly. --- ## 10. Offline Mode and Data Retention The App can function in offline mode using locally cached data. You can: - Clear all app data by going to **Device Settings → Apps → Trinkbrunnen und Toiletten → Storage → Clear Data** - Delete the App entirely to remove all locally stored data - Request that we delete your diagnostic data by contacting us (see Section 12) --- ## 11.
